I've gotten several emails that run along the lines of, "KnitMinder is great, but how do I track my (Denise, Knit Picks, Plymouth) interchangeable needles?" KnitMinder 1.2 has got you covered! There are two new categories to the Needles section named “Modular Tips” and “Modular Loop”. To track your needle set, enter the tip sizes as modular tips and the cord sizes as modular loops. Here's an example of a couple of interchangeable tips and cords entered in the new Needles section:

Wait, what's that little green sweater with a paper clip icon in the needle list? It's another new feature of version 1.2 -- the application now shows that icon next to needles and yarn that have been added to a project. This makes it easy for you to see what you're using and what is still available for a new project.

Once you have entered all of the tips and cords in your set, you can add them to your projects just like the other needle types. Simply select the tips you are using from the modular tips section and the cord size from the modular loop section and you're done!

The final thing you need to keep your interchangeable needles organized is a place to enter the brand of the needles. In 1.2, there's a new field in the Edit Needle screen for entering the brand, and the brand is displayed beneath the needle size in the list. Now you can tell your Knit Picks from your Denise.

Thanks to everyone who gave me feedback on the modular needles design on Ravelry and via email! I think this is going to be a great addition to KnitMinder.
