Deleting needles

Hi, thanks first of all for KnitMinder, I love it.
When I first loaded all my needles and stash into the app, there was no provision for modular needles, so I improvised and entered them under something else. Now that I've been able to record all my KnitPro needles, I can't delete the old entries.
Am I missing something? I've reset the old entries to 0.0 so that I'm not confused, but I still have a list that's much longer than it needs to be.
To delete an item like a needle, yarn, or pattern, go to the list view of that item by touching the appropriate button at the bottom of the screen, then swipe your finger from left to right across the item you want to delete. A red "Delete" button will appear at the right of the item. Touch it to permanently delete the item.
Even though this is covered in the help text, I still get this question fairly frequently, which tells me that deleting from KnitMinder isn't easy and obvious. I've entered a bug in the Issue Tracker to remind me to add a big red "Delete" button at the bottom of the detail page for Yarns, Needles, Patterns, and Projects, which should help.
