Exporting data to new device.

My husband gave me his 3G Touch to replace my 2G since he got an iPhone. Is there a way to move the data from the old device to the new one? I really don't want to have to re-enter everything!

Thanks.

I have the same issue - just upgraded to an iPhone 4, and although my app transferred, all my data did not.

Any suggestions?

I'm answering my own question!

At the bottom of the KM screen, touch the More button. Touch Import/Export. Follow the directions there for exporting your data from the old device to a server, then take the new device and go to the same place to import the data to the new device. Fantastic!

The "Error" Message that comes up on import may be due to the fact of what e-mail address you use. I tried two hotmail accounts to import and it didn't work. Knowing hotmail accounts don't work with iPhone/iTouch very well, I tried my gmail account. Worked right away, no problem.

Glad to hear that you were able to transfer your information. Could you send the hotmail addresses that didn't work to me at the support@quilt2go.com email address? I'd like to see if I can figure out why you had trouble with them in the first place. Thanks!

Just bought an iPad and one feature I was really looking forward to was using my Knitminder on a bigger screen. At first the data didn't import with the app and then when I tried importing from my iPhone it said "Error". I was hopeful that the new update 1.5.3 would solve my problem but sadly no... Is there a solution to my problem? Does your program work on an iPad or is it just another bug? I would be very grateful if you could help mel!!! Thanks

There is an bug in version 1.5.3 which can cause importing to fail under some circumstances. I've located and fixed the problem, but I still need a couple of days to test the update to make sure everything is working properly. I plan to submit the update to Apple near the end of this week, so I am hopeful that it will be approved and made available late next week.

Thanks for your patience while I get this fixed!

That's some good news! Thank you so much for all of your hard work! I'm loving my Knitminder and use it all the time! Looking forward to the update and to use it on my new iPad! :)
